Protecting Children in Tourism
We are committed to ensuring that children are never harmed or exploited through tourism activities. Our operations strictly avoid any form of child labor, forced performances, or inappropriate interactions with children. We believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. By choosing ethical partners and raising traveler awareness, we help safeguard the rights and well-being of children across Türkiye.
No Exploitation
We strictly oppose any form of child exploitation in tourism. This includes child labor, forced begging, and using children in performances or staged experiences for tourist entertainment. Such practices are harmful, normalize exploitation, and violate children’s fundamental rights.
We ensure that none of our tours or partner experiences involve the participation of children in ways that jeopardize their safety, dignity, or development. Tourism should never come at the expense of a child’s well-being.
Ethical Volunteering
While the desire to help is genuine, short term volunteering with children especially in orphanages or schools can have unintended negative effects. These include attachment issues, lack of proper safeguarding, and the reinforcement of harmful cycles of dependency.
For this reason, we do not offer or promote “voluntourism” involving direct child contact. Instead, we support long-term, locally managed initiatives that focus on systemic improvements in education, child protection, and family support.
Ethical Interactions
Travelers may naturally feel drawn to interact with children they meet on their journey, but it’s important to do so respectfully and ethically. Taking photos of children without consent or giving gifts directly can infringe on their privacy and create expectations.
We encourage all guests to treat children with dignity, avoid intrusive behavior, and always seek permission from a parent or guardian before photographing or engaging with a child. Every child deserves respect and protection, no matter where they live.
Support Local Education
If you wish to give back, we recommend contributing to reputable local organizations that work to improve access to education and child welfare in Türkiye. Donations or long-term partnerships with vetted NGOs can make a meaningful difference.
